Default Aion

Am I the only one disappointed you have to pay for Aion?!

I mean, it's the only MMORPG I want to play now, but it's

A). Not released yet and
B). Requiring (spelling?) a monthly fee to pay, and as my current situation stands, I cannot afford to pay for it.

Am I the only one that thinks this is Bullshit?

it's easy for me to not be upset. Once I hear something is p2p, my interest stops completely. No reason to follow the development about something that crosses my line.

I dislike P2P in general, but only because I have never seen a game worthy of paying monthly for it. GW is, in my opinion, still the best MMO [like] game out there right now, at least in the way that it fits my playstyle. Most of the others require way too much time investment, which usually makes up for the monthly cost, but I'm more of a quality>quantity kind of guy.

Aion looks to be pretty nice, and it may finally be worth that monthly payment. If so, I'll gladly offer it up.

Yep, it was hard to resist, but I'm not even going to try to get into the beta. I might like it too much, and end up spending a bunch of money and time that could be invested somewhere else.

Looks really, really fun though.

I might be wrong here and i stand for correction but this was possible one of the downfalls of Guild Wars, they dont have enogh money to host GWWC or things like that, so i think a P2P can work well in the end .

If it was F2P, it would probably get as much attention and quality updates as Guild Wars.

P2P is good. If you can't afford it, well, that sucks for you.

Exactly.

You pay for the updates, for the stability and lag-free gameplay (oh, I forgot, GW has no lags.... right...) and developers who actually give a damn.

Not just some measly Community Manager that drops by once a week to post something irrelevant in a random thread.

Besides, F2P games usually are "free", but if you want to be the best, you MUST pay for items or services.

Unless it's F2P, I won't even acknowledge this game exists.

Because we all know that F2P games are good.

Oh, wait.

At least they get updates and balance fixes...

oh, wait.

...But maybe they are fair for everyone?!

...sorry, nope

If the fee was small such as the fee for xbox live, I wouldnt mind paying monthly for a game. But since i am yet to come accross i decent game that has a cost that small, ill stick with F2P.
At the usual price monthly for a P2P game over a year, I could buy myself 3 new release games. If the game was REALLY good, then the gameplay may be worth paying monthly for, but i have yet to find a game that would make me wand to pay monthly fees to play, ill just wait for GW2 and hopes its average.

Its my first venture into P2P territory, so I'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping it will be updated regularly and get a lot of new content. I'm hoping for a complete opposite to the current GW situation where updates are few and far between and often somewhat lacking.

I played the last beta weekend and ive been hooked since. Have you seen the vids of the big raids? they look awesome. Loads and loads of players storming an enemy land, constant waves of elyos smashing against asmo defenses, hundreds of white wings descending on balaur fortresses in the Abyss.

I want to play it riiiiiiight now!

You don't have to worry about updates and end-game content (like in AoC, which made the game fail), since we will start off with 1.5 :P

I'm simply not eating hamburgers, or missing out ONE night from clubs a month, and that's it, I have the monthly fee.

P2P = lots of updates, more support
F2P = fewer updates, less support

You get what you pay for.

So why the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO are there no games that just sell smaller content updates?

p2p sucks, not because you have to pay more, but because you don't own the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing game.

Never.

And you can't just ignore it for 2-3 Month and then log back in and continue playing if you don't pay during the inactive time.

Don't like our new content updates?
Well RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you, you are going to pay for them with your fee anyway.
